Terms of Use

Agreement to Terms

This website (the "Site") is independently owned and operated by Miriam Merin, LCSW ("I," "me," or "my"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms of Service and to use the Site in accordance with them, our Privacy Policy, and any additional terms that apply to specific areas of the Site.

These Terms apply only to the Site. They do not govern consultations, appointments, psychotherapy, or other professional services provided or coordinated through Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC.

I reserve the right to change these Terms of Service from time to time. The revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the Terms as modified.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please discontinue use of the Site.

Informational Purpose

I created this Site to provide general information about my professional background, therapeutic approach, areas of practice, and work as a psychotherapist.

The Site is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Its content does not constitute psychotherapy, medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a recommendation concerning any particular person's circumstances.

Information on the Site should not be used as a substitute for consultation with an appropriately qualified health or mental-health professional.

No Therapist-Client Relationship

Visiting the Site, reading its content, or contacting me through an email link displayed on it does not establish a therapist-client relationship with me or with Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC.

A therapist-client relationship can be established only through the separate intake, consent, and agreement processes applicable to psychotherapy services provided through Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC.

Please do not rely on the Site or its general content when making decisions in an emergency or addressing an urgent mental-health concern.

Solid Ground Psychotherapy and Email Inquiries

I practice as a psychotherapist at Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC. Appointments, consultations, availability, scheduling, fees, and related communications are provided or coordinated separately through Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC.

Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC does not own, operate, or control this Site.

The Site may display an email address for general inquiries. Selecting that link typically opens your own email application. Messages sent that way are not submitted through a form hosted on this Site for clinical care, and email may not be fully secure or confidential.

Please do not include sensitive personal, medical, or mental-health information in an initial email. Email is intended for general inquiries and is not monitored for urgent or emergency communications.

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis in the United States, you may call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

  • Introduce malicious code, viruses, or other harmful technology
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with me or with Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC
  • Use the Site or its content to harass, impersonate, defame, or harm another person
  • Reproduce or exploit Site content for commercial purposes without authorization
  • Use automated systems to extract or reproduce substantial portions of the Site in a manner that interferes with its operation or infringes applicable rights

Nothing in these Terms is intended to prevent customary indexing of publicly available Site content by generally available search engines.

The Site is provided for your personal, non-commercial, informational use. You may download or print one copy of individual pages for that purpose, provided you keep intact all copyright, attribution, and other proprietary notices. Unless I have explicitly authorized you in writing, you may not modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, translate, sell, create derivative works from, exploit, or distribute in any manner or medium any material from the Site.

Accuracy and Availability

I aim to provide accurate and current information, but professional information, availability, areas of practice, external resources, and other Site content may change.

I do not guarantee that every statement on the Site will always be complete, current, or free from error. I may revise, remove, or update Site content at any time without notice.

I also do not guarantee that the Site will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or free of technical errors. Access may occasionally be limited for maintenance, security, technical, or other reasons.

Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to email services, professional organizations, educational institutions, mental-health resources, or other third-party websites and services.

These links are provided for convenience or informational purposes. A link does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of the third party or of its content, products, services, views, or practices.

I do not own or control third-party websites and am not responsible for their content, availability, security, accessibility, or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party site is at your own risk and is governed by that third party's own terms and policies.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

I do not warrant that the Site will meet every visitor's needs, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its content will be suitable for a particular clinical, personal, legal, educational, or professional purpose.

Nothing in this section applies to or limits obligations arising from psychotherapy or other professional services provided through Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Miriam Merin, LCSW shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your access to, inability to access, or use of the Site or its general content.

This limitation applies to operation and use of the Site. It does not govern, disclaim, or limit responsibility for psychotherapy, consultations, or other professional services provided through Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC.

My total liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Site shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in such jurisdictions, liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Miriam Merin, LCSW from any claims, causes of action, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms of Service, or your violation of any rights of another party.

Termination

I reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the Site, without prior notice, if I determine that you have violated these Terms of Service or have engaged in conduct I deem inappropriate or unlawful. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Site and any content obtained from it.

Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising specifically from use of the Site are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

This governing-law provision applies only to the Site and these Terms. It does not establish the terms governing psychotherapy or other professional services provided through Solid Ground Psychotherapy, PLLC.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law or severed to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
